A GOAL OF ZERO WASTE
Every year at Gulf Coast Green we strive to raise the bar from previous years. This year, a key goal is that of a ‘Zero Waste Event’. There are several ways in which we hope to achieve this and will not be possible without the support and participation of our exhibitors and attendees
- Food Service: Everything related to food conveyance will be reusable, and the food will be composted. Composting assistance for all food service-bio waste by Pat Greer’s Kitchen
- Event Host Generated Items: All items including program brochures, posters, and any wrappers will be recyclable. No non-recyclable waste will be disposed off on site. Event badges will be reused next year. No symposium bags provided.
- Exhibitor Generated Items: All expo exhibitors are approved on the basis that their booth and display meets the event’s green guidelines for waste. We request that the exhibitors:
o Recycle and compost in the proper containers
o Any surplus materials/ products to be taken back by the exhibitor for reuse
o Do not bring or distribute any plastic and non-recyclable promotional giveaways. Any items that will be distributed must meet the event’s green guidelines.
o No polystyrene (packing peanuts)
- Guest Generated Items: Please do not bring any single-use water bottles, non-recyclable coffee cups to the event. Attendees are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle and your own coffee cups. Remember to return your badge at the end of the symposium. Make use of the recycling and compost bins. A trash container will be provided outside the event perimeter with the goal of keeping the Gulf Coast Green event precinct at ‘Zero-Waste.’
- Recycling Services for the event provided by Republic Waste. Find out here what recycles and what doesn’t

Each exhibitor was asked to submit a Green Guidelines SOQ. Refer here for the Green Guidelines.
